Material options

Galvanized and Fiberglass Silo Options

The silo material and configuration should be selected according to storage requirements, site conditions, feed delivery layout and the approved project scope.

Galvanized Steel Feed Silos

Galvanized steel silo configurations are selected according to the approved model and project requirements. The body, support structure, outlet accessories and connection layout are confirmed before quotation and production.

Fiberglass Feed Silo Options

Fiberglass feed silo configurations may be considered for projects with different material, environmental and installation requirements. Available capacities, support structures, outlet arrangements and feed-line connections are model-dependent and are confirmed during technical review.

Submit the project layout and required storage scope so the suitable material direction can be discussed without assuming that fiberglass and galvanized configurations share the same structure.

Model selection

Silo Types and Capacity Range

Selected galvanized feed silo configurations are available from approximately 1.9 to 51.7 m³. Final usable feed capacity depends on the selected model and feed bulk density and is confirmed during technical review.

The capacity class should be reviewed together with daily feed consumption, delivery interval, available installation area, pig-house grouping and the feed-line route. A larger nominal volume is not automatically the correct choice for every farm.

Selection inputs

  • Required storage volume and feed delivery interval
  • Feed type and estimated bulk density, if known
  • Number and layout of pig houses
  • Installation location and foundation conditions
  • Required outlet and feed-line type

Discharge and Feed-Line Connection

The silo outlet, hopper and external pipe route should be confirmed as one delivery arrangement. For auger projects, the connection can be matched with the planned pig feed delivery line after the silo position and house entry point are reviewed.

Outlet dimensions and hopper arrangements are not universal. They should be confirmed for the selected model and feed-line layout before quotation.

Optional functions

Weighing and Anti-Blocking Options

Optional assemblies may support feed inventory management or more stable discharge for compatible silo configurations. Their installation, controls and supply scope must be reviewed for the selected model.

Project evidence

Project Installation Evidence

Multiple silos can be arranged outside pig houses and connected to external feed delivery pipes according to the farm layout. The final number of silos, spacing, support arrangement and pipe route are project-specific.

KAMOF can discuss the silo as part of a broader pig feeding system, including storage, delivery and downstream feeding equipment.

How to Select a Feed Silo

Start with the storage requirement and site layout, then confirm how feed will move from the silo to the pig houses and feeding points.

  • Confirm required storage volume and refill interval.
  • Provide feed type and bulk density when available.
  • Mark the proposed silo position on a site drawing.
  • Confirm auger delivery route and outlet requirements.
  • Review foundation, access and local installation conditions.
  • Confirm weighing or anti-blocking options if required.
  • Define packing, installation-support and destination scope.
  • Approve the selected model drawing before production.

Buyer questions

Pig Feed Silo FAQ

What is a pig feed silo used for?

A pig feed silo stores bulk feed near pig houses and supports planned delivery to an automatic feeding system. The final storage and delivery arrangement depends on farm scale, feed type and pig-house layout.

What is the available capacity range?

Selected galvanized feed silo configurations are available from approximately 1.9 to 51.7 m³. The suitable configuration and usable feed capacity are confirmed after feed bulk density and project requirements are reviewed.

Can a feed silo connect to an automatic pig feeding system?

Yes. Outlet and hopper options can be matched with an auger feed delivery line after the silo position, pipe route, outlet arrangement and pig-house layout are confirmed.

Are weighing and anti-blocking options available?

Weighing assemblies and anti-blocking components can be discussed for compatible configurations. Their inclusion, installation and control requirements are confirmed for the selected model.

What information is required for a quotation?

Please provide the required storage volume, feed type, estimated bulk density if known, number of pig houses, feed-line type, outlet requirement, installation location, quantity, destination and project schedule.
